Course Content
Learning another language gives us insight into a culture and the world view of those who speak it, which brings us to a deeper knowledge of and respect for other cultures. We will receive and practice:
the Lakota sound system and simple grammar
basic Lakota vocabulary, phrases, introductions
orthography (how Lakota is written)
extended resources for continued language learning
Enrollment Details
Fee: $75/person & $125/family (up to 4 people)*
Dates: Thursdays–11/29, 12/6, 12/13, 12/20
Time: 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
When you land on the Booking Page, choose either the Lakota Language: Introduction “Family” or “Individual” payment option. If you are paying for a family, please add the names of the family participants on the enrollment form.
*Practice workbook available on the first day of class for $15.
There is some reading involved, although accommodations will be made for "youngers" who come with their families. We all learn language first as an oral tradition! Class is limited to 30 participants. Course fee is nonrefundable.
