A Yearlong Empowerment Program for Teen Young Women
“Said the river: imagine everything you can imagine, then keep on going.”
When a small group of teen girls approached us with the desire to have extended time on the land—time to explore the deeper mysteries of the natural world and the many sparkling facets of their own nature—we gathered the creative energies of those teens, a team of mentors, and a group of supportive parents and trusted advisors. What emerged from this creative process was an inaugural year of Friday evening experiences, overnights, weekend camping adventures, and a final week-long mountain backpack with a culminating, guided rite of passage challenge for each young woman.
Participation in our opening year was by invitation only for these founding teens. We are grateful to the initial cohort of young women who took the Solis Lunae journey and blazed the trail for those who now will follow. Beginning in September, we will take another walk through the seasons with old friends and new. Because of the commitment required to participate, the Solis Lunae mentor team put together an application process for both teens and parents to complete. Mentors will arrange a time to talk after receiving an application. Together we will decide readiness to begin this transformational journey!
